Since day ONE!

Cream Pies!

IMG_8404.jpg

Did you know we have been making oatmeal cream pies since day ONE? Like February 11, 2011?
Which means, we’ve been scooping oatmeal cookies & mixing up honey buttercream for 8 years.
EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. That’s a lot of cream pies.

When I was a kid, my dad would wake up my sisters & I early on Saturday mornings. “Psssst,
I’m going to the gas station. Wanna come with?” For him, it meant drinking black coffee with my grandpa +
a bunch of buddies right next to those moving slushy machines. For us, it was a whole different story.
We got to peruse the candy aisle, look at gas station gadgets, check out that blue slush puppy machine,
and eventually we got to pick out a treat (the highlight)! I would either go for the little Debbie oatmeal
cream pies, or a whatchamacallit candy bar. And that was that. So simple, but so memorable.

SO, that’s where the oatmeal cream pie comes into play. When I started playing with recipes,
oatmeal cream pies made the list! Our oatmeal cookies are mostly made with whole wheat flour and a hint of cinnamon.
Haven’t tweaked the recipe since. We sandwich honey buttercream in between the cookies and call it a day. BAM.

Our honey buttercream is made with local honey from Jake’s in Custer, WI.
Throw in WI butter and you have yourself a real treat.

Since these are so popular we started to make other varieties of cream pies!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel
Dark chocolate cookie, peanut butter buttercream, rolled in crushed salty pretzels

Cherry Rose
Cherry Rose shortbread cookie, rose buttercream, and a tart cherry filling

Lemon Berry
Zesty lemon cookie with a mixed berry buttercream

Citrus Seed
Sweet seedy cookie with fennel & poppyseeds, and citrus buttercream

What flavors would you like to see on our menu?

We have oatmeal cream pies on the daily, and do our best to keep the others stocked as often as possible.

And hey — if you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading! We appreciate it!

That’s it for today, but more to come!
